FEATURED ARTICLE:

emarketing – An internet business

internet business“The times They are a Changin” is the title of a popular 1960s song by Bob Dylan but it could apply to the emarketing, a booming internet business today. The term “emarketing” is a term given to various forms of electronic marketing. These include but are not limited to email campaigns and use of advertising on social media like Facebook as well as pay for click, pay for page view and a variety of associate marketing programs. The cost and effectiveness of these types of advertising vary widely. Almost all businesses on the internet use some form of emarketing.

Email marketing campaigns can be one of the most effective emarketing methods. When you provide a business on the internet with your email address they will normally add it to their “in house” list similar to the”mailing lists” that many companies still maintain. Companies are usually very careful to protect their “in house” email lists mostly because they represent either customers or likely potential customers. Since regulations have drastically reduced much of the junk or spam emails, businesses can communicate with their customers more easily through emails.

Business use of social media on the internet has increased as social networks have exploded in size. Facebook in particular offers businesses of all sizes an opportunity to create a Facebook page allowing companies to have a way to reach new as well as existing customers. Facebook also offers businesses a wide range of advertising options with ability to target potential customers by their interests, ages or other criteria. This certainly targets the advertising much more effectively.

Pay for click advertising is an emarketing method that is very popular with businesses. If someone clicks on an advertisement it will usually take them to the website of that business. The advertiser pays for this “click. Internet companies like Google offer a wide variety of this type of advertising often through arrangements with website owners in programs that share the advertising revenue. Other companies like EBay and Amazon compensate website owners who direct people to their sites based on actions (usually purchases) that are taken once there..

As in traditional advertising the object is to place information on your product or service in front of potential customers. Although the emarketing methods may be different and have a bunch of new names, it is still the same old game. Advertising has been around a long time. I think it may have started when Eve tempted Adam with the Apple. We all sure paid for that click -LOL.
